Even if the directors didn’t decide to ease the differences between his personalities by also changing his appearance (reading some of the reviews online made me realize that quite a lot of watchers didn’t get that the appearance change wasn’t actually happening and was there visually present just to make it easier for the viewers to understand how the personalities see themselves) Jisung’s acting would’ve been enough to recognize which one is which immediately. Jisung’s acting was the backbone of the drama. So glad we are slowly letting go of this obsession. Cannot say I’m surprised because it’s a k-drama after all and which trope do screenwriters love the most? You have one guess. Cha Do Hyun has seven personalities and yet, the drama gives them about 40% of the plot, deciding to focus more on the childhood mystery instead. The two had enough chemistry to get you hooked and want to see what will happen to them, but I think the main surprise was how little DID was actually covered in the drama. Jisung’s main character Cha Do Hyun was an interesting one although rather weak and confusing in the beginning as we get to learn more about his DID and trauma which triggered it. I also appreciate how loyal and dedicated she was to her family and those she cared about. She was a really enjoyable female lead for me and her character was relatable and nice enough to root for her from the beginning. Ri Jin’s twin brother, Oh Ri On, a famous mystery novelist, investigates Do Hyeon and his family.įirst things first, I don’t really understand the criticism Hwang Jungeum keeps getting still on online forums and reviews when it comes to her acting in this drama because I thought her character was great and obviously a bit dramatic for comedic purposes. Wanting to regain control over his life, he asks Oh Ri Jin, a first-year psychiatric resident, to help him, but she eventually falls in love with one of his personalities. The latter has resulted in the creation of seven distinct personalities. Let’s review.įrom MyDramaList: A traumatic childhood experience leaves Cha Do Hyeon, suffering from memory loss and dissociation. Kill Me, Heal Me has a lot of questionable plot and directing moments but it’s a fun, sweet drama nontheless. I’ve heard about Kill Me, Heal Me a lot of times before and was familiar with the main concept of it (as well as Jisung and Park Seojoon winning Best Couple Award lol) but I didn’t expect the drama to deal with so much past mystery and family scheming. I was surprised to see that the drama has 20 episodes but the unique and intriguing plot summary really had us both wanting to start watching it as soon as possible. Mom and I decided to take a break from crime shows last month and eventually picked the ever so popular k-drama classic Kill Me, Heal Me to watch.
